Opis predmeta:

Ovaj predmet ima za cilj upoznavanje studenata sa glavnim karakteristikama drevnih civilizacija. Predmet obuhvata pet modula:  Grčka kultura, Indijska kultura, Jevrejska kultura, Hispanska kultura i Kineska kultura. Akcenat će biti stavljen na uzučavanje istorije, književnosti, politike, filozofije i umjetnosti.  Posebna pažnja će biti posvećena uticaju ovih civilizacija na savremeno društvo.

Nakon završenog kursa, student će biti osposobljen da:

  - Identifikuje i spoznaje glavne karakteristike drevnih civilizacija sa aspekta istorije, književnosti, politike, filozofije i umjetnosti;

  - Kritički  analizira filozofiju drevnih civilizacija i diskutuje o njihovim sličnostima i razlikama;

  - Identifikuje različite političke pokreta drevnih civilizacija i diskutuje o njihovim sličnostima i razlikama;

  - Identifikuje i analizira uticaj drevnih civilizacija na savremeno društvo.

Course description:

This course is designed to provide students with understanding the main features of ancient civilizations. The course consists of five modules: Greek culture, Jewish culture, Indian culture, Hispanic culture and Chinese culture. The students are introduced to the history of these ancient civilizations and acquainted with their distinctive characteristics, such as literature, politics, philosophy, and art. Special emphasis is put on the evaluation of influence that these cultures exerted on contemporary societies.

Upon the completion of this course, student will be able to:

  - Understand and discuss the main features of Greek, Indian, Jewish, and Chinese cultures;

  - Comprehend basic philosophical concepts formed in each of the four ancient civilizations and evaluate their similarities and differences;

  - Identify different types of political organization in Greek, Indian, Jewish, and Chinese cultures;

  - Evaluate the influence of traditional cultures on contemporary societies.
